Animal Management Extended Diploma Level 3 at St Helens College
This specialist course is designed to provide you with the academic knowledge and skills to progress onto degree level study or a career within animal management.
You'll be taking your learning to the next level with the study of animal science such as genetics, biology and animal behaviour.
You will have the opportunity to choose from the following units:

- Animal handling
- Animal feeding
- Animal accommodation
- Zoo health and husbandry
- Exotic animals
- Animal behaviour and communication
- Breeding and welfare
- Work experience
- Breeding and genetics
- Biochemistry and microbiology
- Wildlife rehabilitation
- Inheritance and genetics
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and maths.
English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.
You will be assessed by a range of assignments.
If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2016), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.
Lots of our students go onto study a variety of animal related and science degrees at university after completing this course.
Depending on what your interests are, you could secure a career in animal science, conservation and wildlife, animal behaviour and welfare, zoo management, biological sciences or veterinary nursing.
