Skills for Progression Entry Level 3 Certificate at Walsall College

Course description

The perfect course for individuals looking to develop the necessary basic and social skills to enter the workplace. Includes a voluntary work placement.

This course includes a variety of units such as preparation for work, exploring job opportunities and dealing with problems in daily life. Students studying on this course must complete a work placement with a local employer. Student’s will also study towards Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications required. Please note that learners with disabilities or Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities may be exempt from some entry requirements. This will be decided on an individual basis and will be subject to suitable evidence and needs assessments. Admissions tutors will work with the Inclusive Support Team to ensure learners with additional support needs are given appropriate advice and guidance.

Assessment

Portfolio based which include individual and group activities, real life scenarios, practical, verbal and written assessments. Student’s are assessed on a work placement. Functional Skills are exam based.

Future opportunities

Paid or Voluntary employment or mainstream vocational course.
