Management Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship at Wiltshire College

Course description

The management Advanced Apprenticeship has been developed to support those working in the following job roles: First Line Managers, Section Managers, Assistant Managers, Trainee Managers, Senior Supervisors and those working in a range of other management positions.

The final qualification will be the Level 3 Diploma NVQ Certificate in Management, giving learners an opportunity to develop their management performance, become more effective and to progress their career.

Tasks may include planning, allocating and monitoring the work of the team, giving feedback, briefing teams, supporting team members, managing conflict, resolving problems, procuring supplies, project management, agreeing budgets and managing and improving customer service.

Course content

During this apprenticeship, you will be studying for the Level 3 Diploma NVQ Certificate in Management as well as the Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management.

Learners are required to complete the following mandatory units as well as optional units depending on your chosen area of management:

  • Managing personal development
  • Setting objectives and supporting team members
  • Planning and allocating work for the team

You will be learn both the knowledge and practical skills required by effective managers. Broad in range and depth, the programme offers candidates a real opportunity to work alongside other managers and to share experiences and work based learning. 

You will study the following modules as part of the technical certificate: 

  • Personal development as a first line manager
  • Resource planning
  • Meeting stakeholder needs
  • Managing and communicating information
  • Developing individuals and teams 
  • Improving team performance 
  • Management communication

Entry requirements

Minimum Level 1 or GCSE grade D in Maths and English. All applicants will be required to pass initial assessments in Maths and English.


Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers, so they offer a structured programme that takes you through the skills you need to do a job well. Each apprenticeship involves a structured programme of training leading to a recognised qualification, and they are available at different levels, letting you choose the speed you wish to learn at.

Future opportunities

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress onto the Level 4 Higher Management Apprenticeship.
