Public Services Level 1 Diploma at Lincoln College

Course description

If you want to pursue a career within the Public Services then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to develop an understanding of the public services sector.
Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress to a Level 2 Public Services programme, preparing you for employment or voluntary opportunities within the sector.
During the course you will explore theoretically and practically the following topics at an appropriate level: Leadership: Teamwork; Discipline; Fitness; Emergency Incident Management; Map/Navigation Skills.

 

Entry requirements

You will need to have completed compulsory education or achieved an Entry Level 3 Diploma programme, including Entry Level 3 or equivalent for Literacy and Numeracy. You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report) along with evidence of specific and sustained interest and motivation in Public Services, and an ability to cope with a programme of physical activity.

Assessment

Assessment is a combination of coursework, presentations and practical tests / observations and building up a portfolio of evidence.
