Course description

This framework has been developed by employers and providers to meet the needs of the small and medium size enterprises through to the larger organisations. It provides a structured approach to training and developing prospective Accountants who understand the needs of the organisation, its customers and the sector within which they operate. It is suitable for those in job roles such as Accounts Assistant/Clerk, Cashier, Credit Control Clerk, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk and Sales Ledger Clerk.The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Accounting consists of:-* Level 2 Certificate in Accounting (AAT)* Level 1 Functional Skills English* Level 1 Functional Skills Maths* Employment Rights and Responsibilities* Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

Entry requirements

All candidates must be employed in an Accounting job role.Whilst there are no formal qualifications essential for the AAT Foundation, candidates are expected to have four GCSE Grades A - C. Initial assessments will be used to determine Maths and English skills where appropriate to determine suitability . Keyboarding skills are essential, as is basic knowledge of IT eg Microsoft Office

Assessment

There will be 5 computer based assessments for AATFunctional Skills exams for Reading, Writing and Maths (where applicable)Centre based assessment for English Speaking, Listening and CommunicationCentre based assessment of Employment Rights and Responsibilities workbook
