Creative Techniques in Textiles Level 3 Certificate at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is for students with previous design experience or who have completed Level 2 Creative Techniques course. The course presents the individual with the opportunity to develop creative skills in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Course content

You will study advanced design principles, working on an individual design portfolio. These will be interpreted through a range of embroidery and patchwork and quilting samples.

Entry requirements

You will need to have the Level 2 Creative Techniques qualification or previous experience of design.


Your progress will be assessed throughout the course. Assessment procedures are both informal and encouraging. You will receive regular feedback on your progress with your work being assessed on a formal basis through the use of a workbook that documents your progress on your projects.

Future opportunities

After completing the course you could progress to the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Creative Techniques - Textiles.
