Travel and Tourism Level 3 (Extended Diploma) at East Kent College
This Study Programme is an intensive one year course meaning students are ideally placed to either continue their education by progressing to an HNC in Travel and Tourism course or seek employment.
As part of this Study Programme you will be studying the following units:- Business Purpose - Business organisations- Introduction to Marketing- People in Organisations- Recruitment & Selection in Business- Financial forecasting for business- Consumer Relations in business- Developing Teams in Business- Business on Line- Business Enterprise- Working in Business teamsThe course is very interactive and has been designed to give students the experience of real and simulated business and travel situations. This will include:- Work placement- Working with local businesses- Participating in a number of Dragon’s Den situations- Preparing for employment- Working with Visit Kent
The entry requirements are 4 GCSES at grade A to C.Applicants must be fully motivated and prepared to work on aspects of the course outside the timetabled hours.
The way in which students will learn will include practicals, coursework , guest speakers, case studies, projects. Assessment will be by portfolio building and written assessments.
If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.
