Media Production & Technology UAL Level 3 Diploma at Hertford Regional College

Course description

You will work on live briefs commissioned by employers and produce a range of exciting media products for your portfolio and showreel.  You will explore the world of TV, video and advertising.

Entry requirements

 200 GCSE entry points including English at grade C or have a First Diploma at Merit level with English at grade C or a Higher Diploma in Creative and Media

Assessment

Assessment is through practical group assignments carried out in class and independent coursework.  Functional Skills are assessed through online tests.

Financial information

Free to those under 19 on 31st August 2016. If you are 19 or over on 31st August 2016, have been a permanent resident in the EU for the last three years, and are a fee paying new entrant you will pay £1500 tuition fee (this was the fee for 2015/16 and could be subject to change for 2016/17). However, fee paying students continuing on the same course for a second year will be charged £1500 tuition fee (this was the fee for 2015/16 and could be subject to change for 2016/17). You will be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, kit fee, materials fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable. For these costs please contact our Information Centre.

You will have the technical skills and diverse experience for :

Further study at L3 in Media Production or a related Media discipline - e.g. an extended diploma

Employment within the creative sector.

Additional Activities 

Live briefs for industry clients and visits to the industry relevant locations.  Students will be able to develop their skills in Numeracy through taking Functional Skills qualifications as appropriate

What will I need? 

You will need a kit including an external hard drive.

The kit and trip cost is £100, which is charged to you on enrolment.

      Additional buses run to the College including:

      C2/C3 from Harlow                       approx 30 minutes
      310/311 from Waltham Cross      approx 17 minutes
      310/311 from Hertford                  approx 40 minutes

      Trains: The National Express East Anglia Service provides services from Broxbourne and Cheshunt stations to London Liverpool Street, Tottenham Hale, Waltham Cross, Enfield Lock, Harlow, Sawbridgeworth, Bishop’s Stortford and Stansted. 

      Example journey times:
      London Liverpool Street – Cheshunt – 20 minutes
      Stansted Mountfitchet – Broxbourne – 24 minutes

      Parking: There are limited car parking spaces on site.
