Music A Level at New Charter Academy & 6th Form

Course description

Music is a unique universal language that provides an opportunity for skill and expression. The course challenges written and aural skills, in addition to composition and performance. Western Classical Music is a compulsory area of study and students also select from one of the following: British Popular Music, Musical Theatre or Choral Music. Music can easily be combined with other subjects from the Arts, Languages, Sciences, Humanities and Maths.

Entry requirements

You need to meet the stated Academy entry requirements for AS/A2 courses and have a grade B at GCSE Music (or equivalent) You must also be able to play or sing to grade 4 standard (grade 6 at A2) and be working towards Grade 5 Music Theory.
