PERFORMING ARTS DANCE L3 at Big Creative Education

Course description

Aimed at young people interested in a variety of styles of dance, this course will teach the discipline needed to be a dancer and performance skills, rehearsal techniques and give you an understanding of what it takes to put on a show. You will work on dance techniques covering contemporary dance, urban, ballet and jazz. At the end of the course, you will leave BCE with a professional, digital show reel of your coursework.

Course content

During the course you will be taught by stage and screen professionals who will teach you a number of skills to develop you as a dancer, these include, audition skills, understanding how to perform to an audience for both film, TV and stage productions. You will work on dance techniques covering contemporary dance, urban, ballet and jazz. You will understand how to rehearse, the importance of health and fitness and how to produce final productions.


Underpinning this you will learn about the performing arts industry and the historical context of dance to ensure you able to compete on the world stage. We will work with you to develop your preferred acting style whether it be comedy, drama or contemporary performance and encourage you to choreograph performances and develop your behind the stage skills producing your own shows.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be between the ages of 16-18 on the 1st September 2015 – Prospective students will be offered places on a conditional basis until they receive their GCSE results.


No prior qualifications required
A commitment and passion for music, media, events or fashion


Applicants for L2 courses must have at least 5 GCSEs at D or below (or equivalent) including English


Applicants for L3 courses must have at least 5 GCSEs at C or above (or equivalent) including English C and Maths D

*Places will be awarded to learners who meet our course entrance criteria, are willing to learn and show the most potential.
