Course description

Psychology is the study of the human mind and social behaviour.

Over the two years of study, the following are some of the areas that will be covered:

  • Obedience
  • Short Term and long term memory
  • Forgetting
  • Attachments
  • Phobias/OCDs
  • Functions of the brain
  • Friendships
  • Nature/nurture debate
  • Research methods in Psychology

Entry requirements

A minimum of Grade C at GCSE Mathematics A minimum of Grade B in English Language

Assessment

AS

  • Paper 1 - 1 hour 30 minutes examination
  • Paper 2 - 1 hour 30 minutes examination

A2

  • Paper 1 - 2 hours examination
  • Paper 2 - 2 hours examination
  • Paper 3 - 2 hours examination
