Preparation for Employment Foundation Learning at Tyne Metropolitan College

Course description

The course for you if ...

You'd like to increase your confidence and skills in preparation for employment.

Course content

As well as gaining a solid grounding in general employment and social skills, you will have the option to take units in Health & Social Care, Catering and Engineering.

You will also study Functional Skills, which include Maths and English, as well as the opportunity to undertake work placements and receive support to plan your career.

Entry requirements

You don’t need formal educational requirements, but you should have basic Maths and English skills, be an independent traveller and be able to cope with a busy college environment.

Assessment

You will complete an employability and personal development portfolio and be assessed in Functional Skills.

Future opportunities

You may be able to take another course at TyneMet College at Level 1, or you could move into full-time training for work, or take up job opportunities including supported employment.
