Hairdressing Advanced Apprenticeship at West Herts College

Course description

This apprenticeship is about taking your skills to the next level. The qualification is ideal for junior stylists who have a regular client base, have completed the Level 2 qualification and would like to continue to develop their skills.

Course content

Advanced apprentices take their learning a step further by developing their cutting and colouring skills so they can carry out all the latest fashion techniques – and maybe even determine the fashion looks of the future.

You should have a regular client base to achieve this qualification.

Examples of module options include: Provide hairdressing consultation services Colour hair using a variety of techniques Creatively style and dress hair Develop and enhance your creative hairdressing skills Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business

You will gain practical experience at work. You will also be required to achieve a Level 2 award in English and maths and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities.

Entry requirements

Employment at a suitable level - most employers ask for GCSEs in English and maths, but may have additional specific requirements.

Future opportunities

Following successful completion of this course successful students will be able to progress to a career as a stylist or a senior hairdresser in a salon. You'll also be able to continue your studies to a higher level.
