Philosophy A level at St Dominic's Sixth Form College

Course description

Philosophy is a diverse and demanding discipline that affords students the opportunity to think, debate and formulate ideas on complex issues that have perplexed man throughout the ages. Students learn many useful skills, such as how to evaluate, analyse, research and write essays, all of which serve as excellent preparation for a wide variety of higher education courses or the world of work. 

Course content

A level Philosophy (AQA linear)

  • AS Unit 1: Epistemology and Philosophy and Religion
  • A2 Unit 2: Ethics and Philosophy of Mind

Entry requirements

7 GCSEs at C or above

B in English Language
