Horse Care Apprenticeship (Level 2 and 3) at Askham Bryan College
Work-based learning and assessment at your place of work with some college-based study. Learners must be in a paid work placement to commence an apprenticeship programme, and would usually enter at the Level 2 Apprenticeship stage before progressing to the Level 3.

• Personal learning and thinking skills
• On-the-job and off-the-job training
• Riding (optional) • Breeding (optional)
• English and maths where applicable
On the Advanced (Level 3) there is a coaching route also available
Level 1 Maths and English equivalent to GCSE grade 2 (old GCSE grade E) or above, plus suitable and relevant employment and will be expected to work towards Level 2 Maths and English where this has not been achieved.
Usually a Level 2 work-based qualification (Intermediate Apprenticeship) or considerable work experience, plus suitable employment. Applicants must be acapale of achieving, or have achieved, Level 2 Maths and English.
Ongoing at your place of work and some college study.

Higher education qualifications such as Foundation Degrees in Equine Event Management or Equine Sports Management and, if you’re successful, then on to a ‘top up’ BSc Hons degree.
Jobs in the equine industry such as yard manager roles, with feed suppliers, teaching skills and competition riders.
