Level 3 Certificate/ Subsidiary Diploma in Health and Social Care at Andover College

Course description

This qualification covers a range of subjects such as psychology, sociology and physiology to teach you the skills needed to progress into a career in health and social care or to study at university. All lecturers have a professional background in the Health and Social Care Sector.

During your year guest speakers and off site visits to local care providers will give you an insight into a variety of different settings. You will work alongside professionals in your choice of work placement one day a week to put knowledge learnt into practice.

You will succeed on this course if you are keen and enthusiastic to learn. Within our professional and supportive environment you will have respect for other’s views and opinions, show commitment and take responsibility for reaching your full potential, with a strong emphasis on team work.

In addition to practical evidence from your work placement experiences, evidence gathering includes: essay writing, controlled assessment activities, group work including a music ‘jamming’ session with learners who have additional needs, designing your own web site and video evidence. An end of course outing celebrates the successful completion of the course and your achievements.
