Sport BTEC Level 3 Sport Subsidiary Diploma/Diploma at Smith's Wood Sports College

Course description

This course will last 2 years

Students who wish to continue BTEC Sport from Level 2, or have a keen interest in sport and want to pursue a career in it.


Course content

Principles of anatomy and physiology in sport, the physiology of sport, assessing risk in sport, fitness testing for sport and exercise, fitness training and programming, sports coaching, sports development, practical individual teams, sports nutrition, exercise, health and lifestyle, work experience in sport. 


Entry requirements

Entry requirements to Level 3 courses are 5 A to C grades at GCSE, preferably including English and Maths, alongside Merit or Distinction at Level 2 Sport.



100% coursework.

Subsidiary Diploma – 7 units over 2 years

Diploma – 13 units over 2 years.
