Graphic Design Level 3 Diploma at West Herts College

Course description

A modern career in graphic design is guaranteed to provide exciting challenges. Technology, of course, is transforming these opportunities but creativity remains at the heart of it all.

This course offers a diverse and stimulating world to develop your creative ability, skills and awareness. You will explore traditional and digital design in our studios equipped with the latest Adobe software, producing a varied and sophisticated portfolio of work in readiness for a career in design or further education.

Course content

You’ll study a range of specialist subjects including:

  • Publicity and publishing

  • Branding and identity

  • Packaging

  • Typography

  • Computer imaging

  • Illustration/image making

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs (A*–C) including English or maths or Level 2 Diploma and a portfolio of work. You will then be invited to a course introduction meeting.

Future opportunities

Your options for further study include a Foundation degree in Graphic Design here at College, or an Honours degree at university. Career opportunities span graphic design, advertising, typography, animation and more.
