Course description

Pure Mathematics introduces new concepts and their applications. Mechanics is the application of mechanical concepts and techniques in the physical world. Statistics plays a crucial role in judging how well a mathematical model describes a real-world problem. AS Modules – C1: Surds and Indices, Polynomials, Quadratics, Inequalities, Simultaneous Equations, Coordinate Geometry, Graphs, Sequences and Series, Differentiation and Integration – C2: Circles, Binomials, Trigonometry, Trapezium Rule, Applications of Trigonometry – Mechanics 1 or Statistics 1 A2 Modules – C3: Algebra, Functions, Trigonometry, Exponentials and Logarithms, Differentiation, Numerical Methods – C4: Partial Fractions, Differentiation and Integration, Differential Equations, Vectors, Coordinate Geometry, Binomial Expansion, Further Integration – M1, M2, S1 or S2
