Economics AS Level at Riverside College Halton

Course content

This course is designed for students with an interest in current affairs. You will study current economic issues as reported in the news such as taxation, unemployment, inflation, international trade, the EU and how the Government manages the country's economy.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 A-C GCSE subject passes, one to be in maths, including a minimum of 2 grade Bs, one to be in English Language.

Assessment

Assessment is by modular examination. You will sit exams in both year one and year two that are based on data response, multiple choice and essay questions.

Future opportunities

You could progress onto a BA Hons degree in Economics, Finance, Business Studies, Marketing or Business Management. Following this you could enter employment in a business or civil service environment in a senior administrative role.
