Public Services BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

This one year course is for those who would like to consolidate their knowledge of public services and work towards a qualification that will help them gain employment within the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services  or the Armed Forces. This dynamic course will include command and control, citizenship, diversity, crime and its effects on society, government policies and public services, leadership and teamwork as well as physical preparation, health and lifestyle. Maths and English will be at the core of your study programme. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs A*-D or a Level 1 Qualification in a relevant subject and Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths where not achieved at GCSE

Financial information

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds who do not already have a full level 2 qualification e.g 5 GCSE's grade A*-C. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA ((Employment Support Allowance, (work related activity)) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs 

Future opportunities

Once you have successfully completed the Level 2, you could progress onto the Level 3 in Public Services or employment. Successful completion of Public Services qualifications can open the doors to a career within the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services or the Armed Forces.
