Health and Social Care Cambridge Technical Certificate Level 2 at Stoke Park School and Community Technology College
These qualifications are typically aimed at young people aged 16 – 19 in full-time
education who are seeking a career in health and social care or wishing to further their studies at Level 2.
These qualifications will be particularly suitable for those who wish to study in preparation for employment in job roles where they will be expected to communicate effectively with people and provide support within environments such as care settings.
Course Overview Cambridge Technicals are a new generation of vocational qualifications that are aimed at students who are seeking a career in health and social care or wishing to further their studies at level 2. This qualification is suitable for those who wish to study in preparation for employment within the health care sector or those who wish to progress to level 3 study.
GCSEs at grade D/E, including English Language and Maths grade D and above.
Assessment of Technical Extended Certificate Through coursework students will be assessed on the following units: • communication in health and social care • individual needs in health and social care, • vocational experience in health and social care and the impact of diet on health. All units are assessed through portfolios of evidence and there are no examinations.
Progression Opportunities Students achieving this qualification can progress on to level 3 Health and Social Care Cambridge Technicals at sixth form, enter employment at trainee level, or enter employment and undertake a NVQ
