Extended Project Qualification at Ormiston Victory Academy

Course description

Explore a further aspect of a subject you are studying or a topic you are interested in, and plan, research, and create a project. It can be a written report, a performance, artwork, a community project, a CD, DVD, or computer software. After being taught how to improve your study and research skills, you will work independently, supervised by teaching staff. You can take the EPQ alongside any Level 3 qualifications. It has been designed to develop your abilities to manage tasks while earning valuable UCAS points. It is highly valued by university Admission Oficers as it requires skills such as decision making, problem solving and planning and the ability to work independantly.

Certificate in Financial Studies

The Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) has been designed to help students make informed decisions about their finances. It can provide a route to higher education and a career in financial services. Together the Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) and the Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS) can provide up to 120 UCAS points. After the CeFS, students will be well placed to study the Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS) in the A2 year.

Entry requirements

Five Grade Cs or above. A good record of behaviour and attitude to study. Participation in the Sixth Form induction course. Applicants from other schools will be expected to reach similar levels of qualification and will also be interviewed and a school reference sought.
