Early Years Educator Diploma Level 3 at Canterbury College
The CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.
The Diploma enables learners to gain the knowledge and experience which will allow them to work with children from birth to 5 years. The course is built around four themes: Theme 1: Health and well-being Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness Theme 4: Professional development.
You should be at least 16 years old, and have a GCSE C grade in English and GCSE D grade in Maths. Preferably a Level 2 in Early Years. Learners will be expected to attend and complete GCSE Maths as part of their study programme. All learners who achieve an Early Years Educator qualification will need GCSE English and maths A*-C to count in the ratios at level 3 in childcare settings.
You will be assessed by your tutor and assessor using a range of methods. This will include direct observation in the workplace, E- portfolio of evidence, written assignments and tasks. Learners will need to be on practical work placement as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. To gain this qualification the learner will need to: Pass all units Complete longitudinal study Show competence in a real work environment.
Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.
Students will need a DBS and a T-Shirt for placement which costs £10.00. All students applying for this course will need to attend the compulsory two day assessment.
