Psychology AS/A2 Level at Kings Priory School

Course description

Psychology is the scientific study of how humans and animals behave and how their minds work.  The human mind is the most complex machine on earth and is the source of all thought and behaviour. Studying psychology will give you a real understanding of how science works, as well as a greater understanding of yourself and others.

Throughout the course, you will be introduced to many examples of psychological studies – some of which you will be able to try out for yourselves during practical sessions. You will also consider the different psychological approaches used by different psychologists to explain behaviour.

At least one trip is offered each year – venues change depending on what is available, but the recent Psychology and Pseudoscience conference in Edinburgh included finding out about hypnotism! Possible future trips could include Poland or even China.
