Intermediate Apprenticeship in Barbering at Acacia Training & Development Ltd
Acacia Training also works with many salon supervisors who can train to become assessors. They are then able to observe you on a weekly basis at work during your planned training activities. The Barbering qualification at level 2 is made up of 6 mandatory units, and either 2 or 3 optional units. The choice of optional units will be decided by the assessor in consultation with the learner and employer to achieve the best possible outcome and maximise the benefit to the learner and the salon. Learners that have completed the new hairdressing QCF level 2 qualification with City and Guilds, may be able to use several of the units to apply prior learning (APL) to avoid any duplication of effort
Anyone wishing to follow a career in hairdressing and learn the practical day-to-day skills required in providing hair treatments for male clients
There are no formal entry requirements but you must be able to demonstrate your competence in a real working environment. You may already have a Level 2 Diploma or Intermediate Apprenticeship in Hairdressing
This QCF Diploma is assessed in your own workplace and you will be allocated an Assessor who will visit you to carry out observations of your work and help you to identify relevant evidence of your competence in work.
The Skills Funding Agency requires Acacia Training to choose Apprenticeship funding over any other form of funding where there is a choice. The Apprenticeship is now available for all ages (subject to eligibility) and is made up of a framework of the QCF Diploma and Key Skills. To access this funding via Acacia Training, applicants must be working under contract of employment with a local employer in the South West Region.
In some cases a stand-alone Diploma may be an option.
