Spanish at Maltby Academy

Course description

The study of MFL is highly regarded in many careers including travel and tourism, law, business and economics and marketing as well as teaching, translating and interpreting. In this course you will study 2 units which are taught as modules. Module topics include : Health, Family Life, Immigration and Racism, The Environment, Leisure, Media, Crime and Spain's History, Regions and Literature to mention but a few. This course is aimed to develop your linguistic skills acquired at GCSE. You will study : Listening, speaking, reading and writing. Study of the language, literature and civilisation of the communities where Spanish is spoken. In recent years students of languages have successfully attended cinima trips and language seminars. There will also be an opportunity to attend an area-wide language conference to sample "different languages".
