BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Business at Richmond Adult Community College
The course give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment or a theoretical and practical understanding for what is involved in starting up a business . The qualifications also provide career development opportunities for those already in employment
Business Purposes This is one of two mandatory units where learners will develop understanding of the purpose and different types of business and study the environment in which organisations operate Business Organisations This mandatory unit develops an understanding of how businesses set aims and objectives and develop the main functional areas in business organisations such as sales, production, administration, customer service, finance, human resources, ICT, and marketing, purposes of functional areas in supporting Financial forecasting for business Student will study costs, revenue and profit in a business organisation, prepare a break-even analysis and create a cash flow forecast. The Marketing plan The marketing plan is one of the most important parts of a business plan because it directly communicates the nature of the intended business and the manner in which that business will be able to succeed. Students should already have a minimum of English and Maths to Level 1 or equivalent. Students may be asked to carry out a numeracy and literacy screening prior to acceptance onto the course.
Learners will be assessed formally through coursework which will be a combination of written work, production of artefacts, presentations, projects, observations etc. This is a level 2 course and all student work is externally moderated by the relevant board.
