Diploma in Creative Media Production at Richmond Adult Community College

Course description

This essentially practical 30-week course aims to provide a solid foundation of knowledge of the media industry and a number of key specialist areas within it, and is aimed at those planning a career in some part of the media industry, possibly following a L3 Access to Multimedia course in 2012. The course is designed to be largely hands–on and delivered at a pace which allows time for creative thinking, deep learning and reflection. 16-19 year olds are welcome.

Course content

Your course will cover the following: • Research for Creative Media Production • Communication Techniques for Creative Media Production • The Creative Media Sector and how it is structured • Media Audiences and Products • Animation Techniques • Video/Audio • 2D Digital Art for Games • Advertising Production You will learn through practical demonstration and 1:1 tuition as well as through your own research and application to the set tasks.

Entry requirements

No requirements except a good degree of computer literacy and a willingness to explore and learn.

Assessment

This course will be project-led. You will be continuously assessed on your progress through a series of in-class observations, written exercises, recorded team work and professional conversations.
