Bricklaying Diploma Level 2 at Waltham Forest College

Course description

This Level 2 course will further develop the skills learnt on Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying Course. You will study a range of topics including planning and organising of work, brick and block walls to include: straight and angled walling, arches, cavity walls and pointing and joining setting out.

How to handle equipment and build brick/block and cavity walls

Entry requirements

Progression from a suitable Level 1 Construction course 
For new applicants to the College you will also be required to successfully complete an interview and a short Maths and English assessment.

Assessment

This course is assessed with practical modules, online unit exams and assignments. At the end of the course you will also be required to complete 2 exams in Brickwork and Functional skills. 
Your job knowledge will be assessed by short question papers, which will take place throughout your programme of study. In addition to this you will be required to pass a multiple-choice external online examination.
Your Personal Tutor will prepare and support you for all assessments and online exams.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of a Level 2 Diploma the natural progression is to continue developing your skills with a Level 3 Diploma
You could also consider going straight into employment as some of our current students have been successful in obtaining work in the trade

      Trains run to Walthamstow Central from Liverpool Street station (a bus can then be taken to the College, see below). Wood Street station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the College.

      Tube:

      The Victoria Line ends at Walthamstow Central, which is approximately a 15-minute walk to the College. Alternatively, you can get a bus, see below.

      Bus:

      From Walthamstow Central:Bus 275 stops outside the College, 212 stops across the road from the College (Shernhall Street). Buses 97, 357, 34 or 215 stop at the 'Bell Corner' (junction of Hoe Street and Forest Road). From here, the College is approximately five-minute walk.

      From Blackhorse Road Tube Station: Bus 123 also stops outside the College on route between Tottenham and Ilford
