Fashion and Textiles BTEC Diploma Level 2 at Waltham Forest College
If you are interested in developing a portfolio for applications onto more advanced level courses in Fashion and Textiles, this is the ideal course for you. The course covers a wide range of Art and Design areas including painting, printmaking, fashion design, photography, 3D techniques, research techniques and art history.
During the course you will maintain a sketchbook and build a portfolio of artwork that can lead to a higher level course in Fashion and Textiles, including the Level 3 Extended Diploma. You will also have the chance to meet and work with visiting professional specialists, visit museums and exhibitions.
The course will allow you to seriously widen your knowledge and understanding of the creative process, helping you to put your learning into context by researching relevant artists and designers.

Portfolio of practical artwork
Most units are continuously assessed and graded with one unit externally assessed by BTEC External Verifiers. An overall grade for the qualification is then awarded at the end of the year.
You could progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design, Fashion and Textiles or Apprenticeship. Alternatively, you could consider career opportunities in Fashion Design, Textiles Design, Art, Fashion Promotions, Fashion Styling, Buying/Merchandiser, Sample Machinist, Pattern Cutter and self-employment.
