Business A Level at Stratton Upper School

Course description

Business is a subject that is ever changing and updating to meet the dynamic needs of the modern enterprise. In business, we examine management, marketing, human resources, accounting and finance, international business and market economics. The ability to understand and apply concepts to ‘real world’ businesses develops many skills that will be used through life.

A Business A Level looks at managing people and is a skill needed by many people when they leave education. We learn through a range of tasks, projects, presentations and group discussion. A keen interest in current business affairs is a must. This range of learning methods supports the exam requirements to be able to work with case studies and use research given industries in advance. Future opportunities

Students who study business could go on to further study or into roles in myriad different sectors, and not all of them are those you would typically associate with business in general. Business leads into higher education or work and will equip you with all the skills needed to succeed in both. Most university courses use a similar mix of assessment methods and Business students would be well equipped to tackle coursework, group work and exams.
