Course description

Choose from our 3 pathways in hairdressing, cutting and styling and hair colouring services for entry into the competitive,  fast moving and ever changing hairdressing industry where the emphasis is on providing a great service to clients. A career in hairdressing offers many opportunities and challenges and is closely linked to the fashion industry.

This Technical Certificate will provide you with a fantastic platform to go on to progress to work or further study, honing in on your customer facing skills as well as helping to develop your skills with new techniques and treatments.

Working with real clients in the Academy of Hair & Beauty based at our High Street Campus, is a perfect way to start you career in hairdressing or barbering. Fully equipped, state of the art commercial salons using top professional equipment and products make an ideal learning platform for you to learn the practical as well as the theoretical side of hairdressing.

You will be taught the techniques and skills to cut, colour, shape and dress both male and female clients’ hair to create the look they want by barbering and hairdressing specialists. Visiting experts make sure you are exposed to the most up to date information and developments in areas such as straightening techniques and products, barbering and colouring. As a hairdressing student you can take part in internal and regional competitions which are a wonderful platform to show off your newly found talents.

You will be required to buy a kit and wear a uniform for the practical parts of the course.

Hair & Beauty Level 1 or previous experience including English & maths GCSEs 9-2 (A*- E)
