Music Technology Rockschool Diploma Level 3 at South & City College Birmingham

Course description

This course is designed for students looking for progression onto higher education or a successful career in Music Production Studio Engineering or Live Sound. Developing practical music production skills and techniques through MIDI and audio sequencing, studio recording and live sound modules are key to this course. Remixing, critical listening and arranging modules will improve writing and overall production skills. Live sound and music industry modules round out this production-based course.

Entry requirements

Entry to the course depends on a successful interview based on your qualifications and experience. English and maths may be retaken alongside this course if necessary.

Future opportunities

Students successfully completing the Subsidiary Diploma can progress onto the Extended Diploma, studying Live Sound, Studio Mixing and Mastering and Music Industry modules. Further progression is available through the college's HND in Popular Music Practice followed by our Top-Up Degree. Higher Education at a university in a related subject or related work in the music industry are also options.
