Access to Higher Education Diploma: Science Level 3 at South & City College Birmingham
This full-time course is designed for mature students who want to go to university. It is the equivalent of studying three A Levels in nine months, so it is a very intensive programme. You will study core skills, chemistry, biology and physics.
You must be 19 or over. You will need GCSEs in English and maths A-C or you will need to pass an initial assessment in English and maths at level 2.

Students who achieve this qualification usually progress to university*. The course is particularly suitable for degrees in science related subjects such as: medical science, nursing, midwifery, pharmaceutical science, dietetics, biomedical science, radiography, physiology marine biology and engineering.You could also seek employment in a variety of sectors including the veterinary service, health and safety, the Medical Research Council, university and forensic laboratories, pharmaceutical and product manufacturers and various government departments.* For most universities you will be required to have GCSEs in English and maths as well as the Access to HE diploma.
