Theatrical and Media Make-up Extended Diploma Level 3 at South & City College Birmingham
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Theatrical and Media Make-up is a technical level qualification for learners who wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed make-up artist, providing hair and make-up services in the media, theatre, performing arts, fashion and photographic industries.
Current and continued work experience in a make-up/theatre industry successful interview. Due to the externally set and externally marked exam an initial assessment in English of level 1 or GCSE grades 3 (D) in English Language or above or functional skills of level 1 or above.

As a specialist make-up artist, learners could progress directly into employment in a variety of contexts, which include: - Professional make-up artistry settings working with performers - Theatre, film, print media, photographic studios - Beauty and/or hair salons - Independent/self-employed/mobile/home based settings - National Health Service - Product manufacturing and trainingWhilst the primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment, learners may choose to develop their knowledge and skills further by completing a Foundation Degree in Theatrical Hair and Media Make-up.
