Graphic Design Advanced/Intermediate Extended Diploma at Pendleton Sixth Form College

Course description

You will enjoy a dynamic, creative and supportive learning environment with dedicated studio spaces and computing suites with industry software. You wll be taught by enthusiastic practising graphic designers and illustrators and have the opportunity to work on live briefs as you devleop your skills and portfolio during the course.

Course content

You will study a range of topics which covers the essential skills needed for a career in graphic design including:

  • Graphic design
  • Typography
  • Packaging
  • Advertising
  • Promotional materials
  • Logo design and branding
  • Photography
  • Illustration

You will also learn employability skills

Entry requirements

Advanced Level - 5 grade Cs/4s at GCSE

Intermediate Level - 4 grade Ds/3s at GCSE

 

Assessment

The course is project/assignment based

Financial information

Full time courses are free to 16-18 year olds who are EU citizens

Future opportunities

You can go on to work in various creative industries such as galleries, museums, design studios, architects and fashion retailers. Higher Education opportunities include degrees in fine art, graphic design, advertising, textiles, fashion buying and photography. You can also progress internally on to our Level 4 Art and Design Foundation course.
