City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Hairdressing at New College Leicester
This course is run over two years and is equivalent to 1.5 A-Levels. It aims to provide you with a range of specialist practical skills and technical knowledge which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the hairdressing industry.
This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for working in the hairdressing industry including, cutting using a variety of techniques, colouring, styling and dressing hair and colour correction. You will be expected to undertake work placement as well as your college study time. This qualification is aimed at students who wish to work as a senior stylist in the hairdressing industry.
City and Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate for cutting and styling services, GCSE grade 4-9 or equivalent in English and Maths.
To gain this qualification, candidates must successfully achieve one externally set, externally moderated assignment, one externally set, externally marked examination, sat under examination conditions as well as optional unit assessments as required.
This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining employment in the hairdressing industry or specialist further study. Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that the individual has the skills and knowledge of health & safety, customer service and also has the necessary advanced cutting, styling, colouring and colour correction skills necessary to be employed as a senior stylist. This qualification could lead to a job as a hairdresser working in a salon, spa, cruise ship or hotel salon.
If you want to carry on your studies, you could progress into employment or onto a Level 4 qualification in Advanced Techniques or Management, such as Level 4 Diploma in Management Practice and Advanced Techniques in the Hair and Beauty Sector.
