Photography A Level at Hessle High School and Sixth Form College

Course description

This course will give you a rounded exposure to the different aspects of digital photography, allowing you to produce personalised work and display your abilities in a variety of disciplines.

You will complete the following:

Personal Investigation - You will produce two elements

A portfolio of practical work starting from a brief/scenario.

A related study (minimum 1000 words)

Externally Set Task - An extended response

You will be given a number of themes, each with a range of written and visual starting points, briefs and stimuli

Entry requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs at a Pass Grade are required.
Some courses have specific subject grade requirements for entry. For more details, please contact staff at your place of study.


100% Internal Assessment.

Future opportunities

Studying photography at this level is the natural route if you wish to embark on a career/degree opportunity in the visual arts or related sectors. It is also suited to students who have an interest in visual communications and media studies.
