Aspects of Tragedy

Study of three texts: one Shakespeare text; a second drama text and one further text, of which one must be written pre-1900

Elements of Crime or Political Writing

Study of three texts: one post-2000 prose text; one poetry and one further text, of which one must be written pre-1900

Theory and Independence

Study of two texts: one poetry and one prose text, informed by study of the critical anthology

 

You will have an in-depth study of carefully selected texts that will provide you with a reading list for life, promoting the beauty of our language and the variety of its effects.

Entry requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs at a Pass Grade are required.

Assessment

80% Exam and 20% Coursework.

Future opportunities

Many students go on to pursue the subject further at the university.
