Access to Higher Education Diploma : Humanities combined with Social Sciences at East Sussex College
On this course you will study a combination of units related to Humanities and Social Science, such as Psychology, Sociology, History, English and Philosophy. Students have the opportunity to select from a range of options in order to progress onto their specialised subject at degree level.
You will need to meet our standard entry requirements.
There are no strict entry requirements but in some cases it may be advisable to have GCSEs at 'C' grade (English, Maths and Science) in place before starting the Access course
Students will be asked to submit assignments for each subject unit, and to complete course work in the core units. Assignments may take the form of essays, reports, textual analysis, seminar presentations and examinations. All students submit a research project which forms a major part of the overall assessment.
This course can provide a pathway to higher education in areas such as: Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, History, Law, Criminology etc.
If you intend to apply for the Access Course, we ask that you first attend one of our comprehensive, 2-hour Information Sessions during the year. All applicants are required to attend an interview session with an Access tutor and will also complete a simple writing task.
