Construction and the Built Environment BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma at East Sussex College
On this course you will gain a very good understanding of the many aspects of the construction industry, from drawing and design techniques to building science and understanding materials. You will study 9 units: health, safety and welfare in construction, sustainable construction, mathematics in construction, science and materials in construction, construction technology and design in construction and civil engineering, building technology in construction and construction design procedures. These units are then carried forward into the second year to form part of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment.
You will need to meet our standard entry requirements.
You will need at least GCSE English Language, Maths and a Science grade C/4.
You will be continuously assessed throughout the programme by assignments and some unit tests to check knowledge and understanding. These assignments will be internally set and assessed but externally moderated.
This course can provide a pathway to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment in the second year, and increase the value of the overall qualification to three A Level equivalents. The extended diploma will give entry to university degree courses.
