Performing Arts BTEC First Extended Certificate L2 at East Sussex College
The course is designed to be as practical as possible and is delivered through workshops, rehearsal and performance. You will participate in Acting, Movement and Voice workshops and must be willing to attempt all three skills to pass the course.As well as achieving the main qualification you will make a contribution to a range of college performances, and develop a feel for which specialist pathway you might want to pursue at level 3. If you still need to pass Maths and English at C or above you will take these as part of your programme of study

The extended certificate is made up of 13 units. You will be assessed on your practical work and on your ability to reflect on your own progress. You will also be assessed on your research work and your effective contribution to both solo and group projects. This includes some controlled assessment which is externally examined.
This course can provide a pathway to Level 3 courses and provide excellent training for vocational progression in performing arts and other related industries. If you do not yet have Maths or English at C or above (GCSE) you will be required to study these subjects alongside your main programme.
You must achieve a merit to go on to take our Level 3 courses and also gain the college entry requirements overall to take part in a level 3 programme of qualifications.
