Access To Higher Education - Combined Sciences at Sussex Downs College

Course description

On this course you will be studying units in biology and chemistry, with an option to take physics or psychology.

Entry requirements

You will need to meet our standard entry requirements.

There are no strict entry requirements but in some cases it may be advisable to have GCSEs at 'C' grade (English, Maths and Science) in place before starting the Access course. Applicants are advised to check university entry requirements before considering an Access course

Assessment

Students will be asked to submit assignments for each subject unit, and to complete course work in the core units. Assignments may take the form of essays, reports, textual analysis, seminar presentations and examinations. All students submit a 5,000 word research project on a subject of their own choice, which forms a major part of the overall assessment.

Future opportunities

This course is suitable for progression to Science degrees and/or non Nursing Health professions such as Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy or Paramedic Practice.

Once you have attended an information session, you will be invited to attend an interview session were you will meet with an Access tutor and complete a simple writing task.
