Economics A Level at East Sussex College
On this course you will study key theoretical concepts, such as supply and demand, competition and monopoly, as well as government policy. You will discover the answer to questions such as: Why does the price of petrol keep rising? Why is education free in the UK? Do all nations benefit from free trade and globalisation? This course will build on your interest in the world around you - in politics, current affairs, and the environment. Economics can be applied to most aspects in life.
You will need to meet our standard entry requirements.
You will need at least GCSE English Language and Maths grade B/6.
You will be assessed through 3 exams at the end of the second year, each of which will contribute 33.3% to your A-Level
This can then lead to a variety of university courses and careers. It can provide an insight into decision making in a variety of occupations, including law, town planning, business management and marketing, as well as conservation and environmental management.
Students will be expected to engage in independent study and be willing to keep up to date with current financial affairs as part of their study for this subject.
