NCFE Level 2 Diploma In Sport at East Sussex College

Course description

The course forms part of the Level 2 programme. Within the qualification you will study 7 units including: Understanding business in sport Preparing to work in the sport and leisure industryParticipating in sportSports coachingOutdoor and adventurous activitiesPlan and set up an enterprising sport businessPlan deliver and evaluate an activity session.You will also have the option to study the Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA) and have the opportunity to join a Sports Academy course. Where appropriate, you will also be able to study additional GCSEs. We will expect you to show a commitment to developing your knowledge associated with practical performance in sport.Where appropriate, you may be required to study additional GCSEs such as English Language and Maths.

Entry requirements

You will need to meet our standard entry requirements.

You will need at least GCSE English Language and either Maths or a Science grade D/3.


Assessment is through continuous internal portfolio of coursework and practical completion of work.

Future opportunities

This course can provide a pathway to Level 3 courses if you achieve a minimum of a Merit grade. Your attendance, behaviour and attitude to work will also be considered for this progression.

Further information

Students without a 'C' grade or higher in GCSE English Language and Maths will be required to retake this subject and will need to pass in order to progress to level 3 courses.
