Children & Young People's Workforce Advanced Level Apprenticeship at Cambridge Regional College
This qualification is for those who work in the Children and Young People's Workforce (CYPW) and will cover a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in statutory, private and voluntary settings.
The Level 3 diploma prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years, and gain knowledge of children aged 5-7 years.
The Diploma has requires 23 mandatory units and longitudinal study. Workplace experience is required across a range of all ages, from birth to 5 years.
The apprenticeship framework consists of a level 3 Diploma in Early Years Workforce (EYE), Employers' Rights and Responsibilities and Functional Skills in ITC at Level 2. Learners must have GCSE grade 4/5 (grade C) or above in Maths and English or functional skills level 2 or achieve this as part of framework.
No formal entry requirements are required but GCSE Maths and English or Functional Skills level 2 are recommended. Although learners must be in the correct job role to provide evidence for a portfolio.

All units are assessed by a qualified workplace assessor.

On successful completion of this course you can progress to the foundation degree in early years, playwork and education. If you are in a management role you can progress to the level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children's & Young People's Services.

Students who currently attend a Cambridge Area Partnership school should apply online via UCASprogress.com or by using the Cambridge Area Partnership application form (depending on your school). Please ask your careers teacher at school.
Once we have received your application, you will be invited to attend a college Welcome Event, which gives you and your parents/carers the opportunity to have a look around the College, talk to the tutors and ask any questions you may have.
