Business Administration Pre-Access Diploma level 2 at Leicester College

Course description

This Pre-Access programme will provide you with the skills necessary to progress onto the Business Access to Higher Education and then on to higher education, if this is your preferred route. This course is for adults who have the ability to benefit from Higher Education but have not had the opportunity to do so.

Course content

You will study the City and Guilds level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration along with Study Skills, Functional Skills English and maths. Topics that you will study may include:- Communication in a Business Environment, Principle of Administrative Services, Understanding Employer Organisations, Managing Personal Performance and Development and Developing Working Relationships.

Entry requirements

Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 1/2 (E/F/G) or above is required. Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications. Assessment will be done via projects, assignments and exams for the English and maths elements. You will have a personal tutor assigned to help you throughout the course.

Future opportunities

Upon completion of this course you may choose to continue onto the Access to Higher Education Programme in Business or another subject. Alternatively you may wish to pursue full time employment in an administrative role in a wide range of industries or you could start an apprenticeship to gain work experience within this area.
