Level 3 BTEC Certificate in Engineering at Bury College

Course description

This is a specialist qualification which can be studied alongside AS Levels Maths and Physics for those who wish to pursue a career in Engineering. You will study this qualification as part of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) programme to provide a progression pathway which develops a set of specialist skills and competences required for working in the Engineering sector. A significant proportion of recruitment in the Engineering sector is at graduate level and this course will allow progression to a range of Degree and HNC/HND programmes and also Higher and Degree Apprenticeships. On completion of the certificate course there is the opportunity to study for the subsidiary diploma in year two which is equivalent to one A Level.

Entry requirements

Due to the demanding nature of this Study Programme, the entry profile is higher than the average A Level programme. Minimum entry requirements include: Maths at Grade 9-6, two separate Sciences including Physics at Grade 9-6, English at Grade 9-5, plus at least two other GCSE grades 9-5 (A*-C).
