Photography A Level at Waingels College

Course description

Working on a series of briefs under the themes ‘Composition’, ‘Exposure’ and ‘Light’, this course will encourage you to develop your skills, creativity, imagination and independence based on personal experience and a variety of taught skills. You will work from our purpose built Mac Suite to experiment with pushing the boundaries of photography using Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, our wet darkroom and studio lighting. In the second year, you will set yourself a ‘Personal Investigation’ to examine using visual and written methods.

Entry requirements

Standard entry requirements, plus a C grade in an Art and Design GCSE qualification.


Personal Investigation (60%), Exam (40%)
